WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. John T. Doolittle (R-Roseville) is inviting high school students throughout the Fourth Congressional District to participate in “An Artistic Discovery,” the 26th Annual Congressional Arts Competition.

“This competition is an opportunity for the visitors of our nation’s capital to realize the artistic potential in the Fourth Congressional District,” Doolittle said.  “I encourage all who desire to participate in this exciting competition, and I am looking forward to viewing the remarkable artistic abilities of our youth.”

The winner of “An Artistic Discovery” will receive roundtrip airfare from Southwest Airlines to attend the 2008 Congressional Arts Competition Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Reception in Washington, D.C.  Additionally, the winning piece from each congressional district will be on display in the Cannon Tunnel, leading to the U.S. Capitol, for an entire year.
